Council for Voluntary Service and Volunteer Centre for Broxtowe

About

Voluntary Action Broxtowe:

We are the Community and Voluntary Service (CVS) and a Volunteer Centre for Broxtowe providing training and support for community organisations and volunteers for over forty years. We recruit, train and support volunteers to deliver a range of services that tackle complex social problems in our community and enable people to make positive changes in their lives.

Our vision:

‘A vibrant community of people working together; helping each other to lead fulfilling and self reliant lives ‘

Our mission: We are driven by a powerful mission to transform lives through community action. Our community is diverse; we believe its strength is its people and we recognize the unique role that community organisations and volunteers play in ensuring that those with the greatest needs are helped to overcome disadvantage.

Our community development approach encourages and supports people to volunteer and get involved in producing local services. Through this approach we have supported people to generate their own solutions, break out of disadvantage, reduce social isolation and gain skills for greater independence.

We have a wide network of contacts, across the voluntary, statutory and private sectors; we use these to develop alliances and partnerships to benefit our community.
